Mission Statement

Pet Over Population Prevention is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that has been providing services to the Tri-Cities area of Washington since 1995. POPP seeks educational opportunities throughout the year and provides an on-going assistance program for low-income pet owners to obtain substantial discounts on spay/neuter procedures. Many pets that end up at our local animal shelter are euthanized each year. Through aggressive spay/neuter programs, these numbers can be significantly reduced.

Description

POPP is funded entirely through donations and fund-raisers. There are no paid positions within our organization. We rely on our volunteers to sit with animals during adoption events. Other individuals are trained at rescue, fostering, or driving animals to and from spay/neuter clinics within the community. POPP is called upon nearly every day to assist with abandoned cats or dogs, many times involving litters of kittens and puppies that need immediate attention, often in the form of veterinary care.
