Thriftsmart exists to provide value to customers, opportunity for employees, and benefit to charities by operating the best thrifts stores in the world and promoting thrifty living-all for God's glory.

Description

Thriftsmart is a new chain of non-profit thrift stores in Middle Tennessee created to benefit New Hope Academy, Mercy Community Healthcare, African Leadership and TheBelize Project. Ministries supported by Thriftsmart are making a difference in the lives of people right here and around the world. We share their vision to bring justice to the disadvantaged by providing education, health care, and other economic development initiatives. Donating, volunteering, and shopping at Thriftsmart helps give back to the community and assist those in need. Your support also promotes thrifty living and provides another life cycle, keeping useable items out of landfills to protect our planet.

Summary of Ministries Thriftsmart benefits and supports:

New Hope Academy- is a Christ- Centered Community school with an economically, racially and culturally diverse student body. The school serves 220 Pre-K through sixth grade students at its 33,000 square foot facility that includes 16 classrooms, a library, art and music room and a computer lab. New Hope serves as a resource for schools across the country thatwant to achieve diversity and care for the poor.

Mercy Community Healthcare- provides quality Primary Health Care and Integrated Mental& Behavioral Health Services to both children and adultsfrom over 30 counties in Middle Tennessee. Mercy accepts commercial insurance, TennCare and Medicare. They provide a sliding scale fee, based onthe patient’s household income, for those without insurance. African Leadership- is a Christian educationOrganization that trains church leaders and funds development projects in African countries. Based in Brentwood, TN, itsareas of emphasis include: Bible training centers serving more than 12,000 pastors and church leaders in 22 African countries; vocational training; Christian schools and famineRelief; HIV/IDS education and treatment; and providing resources to the more than 4,000 African refugees living in the Nashville area.

Belize project- finds people in Belize Who are making a difference in building God’s Kingdom, and come along side them and help them with their work. We work primarily in health care, micro enterprises and education. For more information, visit www.thebelizeproject.org

ESL classes: Free ESL classes are offered on Tuesday nights at the store.

Sew For Hope: provides sewing machines and training for international refugees in the Nashville, TN area to advance, lives in our community through a sense of accomplishment and worth in conjunction with a hope for future earnings for students.
