I LOVE FoT! I have worked with them on several planting events and they are always very organized, prepared, and they keep it fun! The volunteer crew leaders are well trained and most have a surprising amount of experience. I've noticed that a lot of the volunteer crew leaders have been with them for years! That volunteer retention says a lot. It is reflective of how they treat volunteers and make the events fun. People want to stick around. The registration process moves along smoothly and quickly. The events are great for both groups and individuals, perfect for families, excellent option for teens needing volunteer hours for service clubs or related classes. Just can't say enough great things about Friends of Trees. Awesome group of people!

I had a good time keeping busy and learning some about the natural habitats of portland. The manual labor was invigorating and it felt good to positively impact my community. The site could have used a little more direction from the friends of trees leadership. But i found things to do despite that.

I volunteered with them in November planting trees in Hillsboro. The people in charge were all nice and serious about the work. The work wasn't exhaustive, but I would suggest to bring a friend along --otherwise, planting trees can become tedious.

I had a lot of fun volunteering for this group. I felt like I was doing something not just for the community but also for the enviroment.
