The CRC works to sustain the rural culture of the community by helping to keep the agricultural land in use. The organization launched a farmers market in 2004, which is now one of Central Virginia largest and best attended producer-only markets.
The organization also offers educational programming relating to sustainable farming, land & water conservation, smart growth, and organic food production.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Center for Rural Culture is to educate, promote and inspire members of our community to sustain a culture that supports agriculture and the local economy, protects natural and historic resources, and maintains our rural character and traditions.
