At NAMI, we are families helping families. For many of us, "finding NAMI" was the end of a nightmare and the beginning of hope. We can share our experiences, understanding and compassion with you. We can tell you what worked for us what did not. We can be your guide to treatment, housing and education resources.

NAMIWalks, held each October at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica raises the nation's consciousness of mental illness, teaches the community about the signs of mental illness, treatments of various forms of mental illness, different types of medications, how to support those with mental illness and their family members, recovery of mental illness and reminds us all of the hope that some day a cure will be found.

Mission Statement
NAMI SFV ( National Alliance on Mental Illness, San Fernando Valley) is an all-volunteer organization serving families and friends of people who suffer from a major mental illness and those working to acheive and maintain reovery from mental illness: Clinical Depression, Bipolar (Manic-Depressive) Disorder, Schizophrenia, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Pain Disorder, etc. We invite you to join us each month for free Speaker meetings and to walk with us each year in October for NAMIWalks for the Mind of America at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. NAMI WALKS raise funds for community based programs and raises the nation's consciousness of mental illness.
