Description

Compassionate Touch, Inc. began as a humanitarian outreach resource for hospital social workers in 1997. It was established to address the pressing needs for short-term emergency assistance for financially challenged patients in the Texas Medical Center. The uniqueness of the organization stems from the fact that it provides urgent funding for meals/groceries, lodging, parking, meals/groceries, rent, utilities and travel expenses (e.g., Greyhound bus or airline ticket, gas card, taxi voucher and Metro Q-card).

There are no specific limits to the granting of assistance. Funding is given regardless of race, gender, type of disease or injuries, age, geographical origin, ethnic background, or religious preference.
