Mission Statement

Mother's Home is a residential shelter for pregnant women and their newborns. As a residential shelter, We focus on physical, emotional and developmental needs including positive life skills, parenting, and job preparation. We strive to assist our mothers to reach their goals of independence and self sufficiency.

Description

Mothers' Home provides a safe and loving environment for homeless, pregnant women. This non-profit shelter, located in Darby, PA just outside Philadelphia, provides life skills education and counseling to enable women to rise above the cycle of abuse and poverty that they have known. What makes this home unique is that the women and infants can remain in the home several months after birth while the mother seeks further education.

Not only is Mothers' Home a worthy cause, the staff members make it easy to volunteer. Everyone is welcoming and friendly - from the Executive Director to the active Board of Directors. There is a volunteer opportunity for every skill level. They are so very appreciative of any donation - time, money or goods. I have already asked my own family and friends to get involved.
