Concerned Care Hospice Foundation

I have been volunteering for Concerned Care Hospice Foundation for about eight months now. I have learned so much about being a volunteer here and my experiences are treasured. I truly enjoy visiting the patients. We read, we talk, we listen to them . . . we are just there for them. I especially love visiting patients on their Birthdays to bring balloons and cake. Words cannot describe the feelings I get when I walk into a room and see their faces light up. It's so gratifying to know that I really am making a difference. In addition, the staff here is wonderful. Great Cause! Great People! What more could you ask for?

Although I am only a college student, I have volunteered for numerous organizations in both the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas. I have experienced a wide range of different volunteer organizations and opportunities, and many have truley touched my life. However, this organization, Concerned Care, has provided me with the most rewarding experiences I have ever taken part in. I have been voluntering with Concerned Care Hospice for over a year now. They provide service opportunities several times a month and usually on weekends. Ideal for high-school and college students! The staff at Concerned Care are the most vibrant, dedicated people I have ever met. Plus, the activities are always fun and always unforgettable! My grandmother recieved hospice care as she came to the end of her life several years ago. The staff was great and very helpful. However, the service, support and volunteer hours that Concerned Care Hospice provides is exceptional and far unsurpassed!!!!!
