Arts Umbrella offers educational and performance opportunities in music, dance, and theater for students of all backgrounds. Arts Umbrella works collaboratively with public schools and other arts education agencies to create and maintain quality arts education in our area.

Arts Umbrella was created in 1997 to offer educational and performance opportunities in music, dance and theater to students of all backgrounds in Lane County, Oregon. New demands for increased fine arts instruction convinced the Eugene Youth Symphony Association, a 74-year old organization, to expand and take the name Arts Umbrella in order to maintain arts training opportunities for students in the greater Eugene/Springfield area after reductions in funding for public schools eliminated and lessened several essential arts programs in our area. Arts Umbrella is devoted to the children in the community and sees itself being a leader in offering quality arts instruction.

Arts Umbrella currently runs four auditioned orchestras, a beginning strings program, bi-yearly AP Music Theory classes, and summer camps in band, jazz improv, strings, and musical theater. We provide scholarships and fee waivers to qualified students and never turn children away from our programs because of financial status.
