Somali Adult Literacy Training

Somali Adult Literacy Training, or SALT, brings Americans and Somalis together to learn. English is taught to our Somali neighbors at our four sites in the Twin Cities, hosting classes from 2-4 times a week (some during the day, some in the evening). Teachers bring a lesson, and tutors sit down one-on-one with our students to help with the lesson - creating relationships that we see growing into life-long friendships.

Have you wondered what the story is behind the thousands of Somalis that have come to Minnesota? Have you wondered what the church can do to love these new neighbors of ours? SALT was begun in 2003 in answer to these questions.

Mission Statement

Sharing Jesus with our Somali neighbors through literacy and friendship
