Mission Statement

The Coastal Watershed Council was formed in response to the declining health of the watersheds of the Monterey Bay region. Our mission is to restore the watersheds of our region and teach our residents how to become stewards of their local creeks and streams.

Description

The Coastal Watershed Council is a non-profit organization working in watershed education, research, and conservation. We collect and analyze data on coastal streams and rivers in the central coast area of California. These data are collected by trained teams of volunteers and disseminated to local, state, and federal agencies to promote best management practices for our riparian lands and waterways. The Coastal Watershed Council is committed to the preservation and protection of coastal watersheds through education, research, and community outreach. CWC promotes the health of riparian ecosystems through stewardship, advocacy, restoration, and proper management practices.
