Youth As Resources

Youth As Resources is a program of the Rochester-Monroe County Youth Bureau

Rochester Monroe County Youth As Resources is a community based service learning and youth philanthropy program. YAR is governed by a board of youth (age 13-21) and adults who provide grants of up to $1000 to young people to design and carry out service projects. The funds for the grants are made available by the Community Foundation. Our board meets for monthly board meetings to manage the grant process. We also partner with Youth Voice, One Vision (a Rochester City Rec. Youth Group), and Nazareth College, Department of Service Learning, to conduct trainings and workshops, and take part in large scale service learning projects throughout the year. Board members come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wide variety of skills and experiences that enable us to fulfill our mission.

Mission Statement

Youth As Resources seeks to empower and engage youth as partners with adults in creating positive community change and development. YAR is committed to giving youth in Monroe County a voice through philanthropy and community service.
