Description

This beautiful 189-acre facility is a special place for visitors to escape among trees, shrubs, specialty gardens, mature forests, and a prairie. The grounds are open from 8 a.m. to dusk every day except Christmas and New Year's. The Arboretum hosts year-round educational programs that teach children and adults about sustainable horticulture, plant science, and conservation. Cox Arboretum MetroPark holds a Wildflower and Native Plant Sale in April (April 28, 2012 - 10am-2pm) and is home to a native-Ohio Butterfly House which is open 8 weeks during the summer (July 7 - August 26 during 2012). Every season has something special to offer, from spring's splashes of bright color to winter's textures.

This place is amazing! I take my four children ages 2, 5, 7,and 8 at least once a month depending on weather! It's such a wonderful environment and allows them to appreciate nature and learn with a hands on approach, so they really take in the information! It's also a very relaxing and cleansing environment for adults! I would recommend this park to people of all ages. It enhances the soul! :)

This metro park has a variety of things to do. There are flowers blooms 3 out of the four seasons, and it that doesn't interest you, there are trails to run or waslk on. There is a few ponds to rest your bones by, and a creek to get mesmorized by. My boyfriend and I come here every anniversary!
