Mission Statement

To educate, preserve and promote the Puerto Rican (PR) culture among the younger genereation and to encourage community involvement by sponsoring social, music, dance, fine and performing arts, and cultural events so that it enriches and inspires and increases public awareness of the PR culture; to provide a forum for connecting with the PR community, to promote and preserve the PR traditions, to share cultural experiences; and to award scholarships to provide financial assistance for education to non-traditional students of Puerto Ricans descent and/or persons with special needs/learning disabilities, seeking upward mobility and/or independence.

Description

Latin Roots Music & Food Fest will feature Latino music, food and performances; set in a festival style setting with craft vendors and artisans selling their work. This event is our first fundraising event for our scholarship program. It will bring together the diverse groups of individuals in San Antonio to enjoy themselves, and develop a better understanding of the Puerto Rican culture and all other Latino cultures represented in San Antonio.
