Mission Statement

Providing essential information and assistance to KanCare members and consumers, the KanCare Ombudsman Volunteer Program is designed to help serve KanCare members in resolving problems regarding their services, coverage, access and rights. The program is training volunteers in the Kansas City Metro and Wichita areas in 2015.

Description

The program serves KanCare members, generally people of lower income, families with children, pregnant women, people with disabilities, or people who are elderly. The program aims to alleviate stress associated with utilization of KanCare services by answering questions or concerns regarding services, lack of services, problems with service providers or managed care organizations (MCOs) and their staff, acquiring telephone numbers or information about who to contact regarding any changes that may come.
