Mission Statement

The mission of The Watershed Project is to inspire Bay Area communities to understand, appreciate, and restore their local watersheds.

Description

The Watershed Project’s vision is "people committed to a healthy San Francisco Bay watershed." Since 1997, we’ve pursued that vision through initiatives that:

  • Restore and preserve our unique, local ecosystems
  • Give students, teachers and volunteers the tools to preserve healthy watersheds.
  • Bring a watershed perspective to the urban environment.
  • Support grassroots watershed organizations.
  • Nurture young people who aspire to environmental careers working for positive change in our Bay Area communities

We are located in Richmond, California, on the University of California's Richmond Field Station.

Volunteering here was a blasts! It was a small and very relaxing volunteer event. I brought a friend and we had a great time gardening on the Richmond greenway

The watershed project leaders were so helpful and happy to have us volunteer. Everything was provided, snacks, drinks, gloves, tools and the plants. People has wonderful conversations so the day went by very fast. All together, we planted 9 trees. It felt great.
