Mission Statement
"We reach out collaboratively in love and service to refugees of all faiths and nationalities, especially those in Northwest Rochester
Description
Our mission is to reach out in love and service to refugees of all faiths and nationalities, providing direct service programs to create a safe community atmosphere and assist them on their journey to independence and, the ultimate goal, citizenship. To assist them in reaching their goal, Mary ’s Place provides services such as English classes, After School Tutoring, Casework and Green Card Assistance, just to name a few. Within six years Mary ’s Place has placed twenty-one children in private schools, twenty-two young adults have gone to college and have pursued a degree in nursing, international relations, engineering, etc., and twelve of the adults have gained their citizenship. Lastly, many of them are employed and have become independent, and come back to Mary ’s Place to volunteer.
