Mission Statement

Our mission is to meet the transportation needs of Encinitas Seniors who can no longer drive. We provide a volunteer driver to a senior who needs transportation for medical needs, grocery stores, doctor appointments, etc. This allows the seniors to remain independent in their home and to continue to have quality of life.

Description

The Out and About Transportation Program is affilitated with the City of Encinitas. Drivers are matched with passengers and are reimbursed for their mileage with the annual IRS rate of 56 cents per mile by the City of Encinitas. There is a 100 mile limit per month, per passenger for each driver). The requirements for this program is a valid drivers license, registration, driving record and insurance and having an hour or two of free time a week to volunteer.
