Mission Statement
We aspire to be recognized as the premiere resource and information center in the community for those with social, economic, or human development needs. We strive to create a caring environment where individuals are treated with dignity and respect and are enabled to become more self-sufficient, contributing, and fulfilled members of society. We endeavor to change lives in a positive manner, through counseling, education, support, funding, and partnerships. We will H.E.L.P. meet the basic needs of individuals. Description
Help of Fort Meade, Inc. is Helping Empower Local People by combating hunger, homelessness, and illiteracy in the Fort Meade area through the following programs:
Fort Meade Literacy Council - Volunteers provide free one-on-one tutoring for adults who want to learn to read and people who want to learn to speak English.
Fort Meade Works - provides employment assistance and placement through partner organizations
Emergency Food bags - donated by local people
Rent/Mortgage Assistance - allows low income families experiencing a short-term crisis assistance provided by United Way and Project Concern.
HELP Thrift Store - Proceeds assist families receive clothes and other household items.
