Mission Statement

MAZii was founded by Andrea Lawrence in 2007, with a vision for community development through the use

of technology integration. We train youth (ages 16?24) in how to teach technology to senior citizens. We

prepare the youth for the experience by first engaging them in sensitivity training toward the seniors and

then providing them with the pedagogical skills they will need. After they complete the two week orientation

we place them in senior citizen centers for an eight week class. There, our youth provide the seniors with

project?based digitalliteracy classes, which focus on a variety of technological tools.
