The CDC engages in three primary activities (1) Housing Counseling. The CDC is a HUD certified housing counseling agency offering comprehensive counseling services including home buyer education, financial literacy, foreclosure mitigation and prevention, rental, fair housing and soon HECM. The FCC has awarded the organization a construction permit for a low power FM radio station that will serve to market our programs and provide on-air community and economic development educational programming. (2) Housing Rehabilitation and New Construction. The CDC administers federal and state funded projects designed to foster and support the ownership of affordable decent, safe and sanitary housing. Low and no interest loans are provided to qualifed families in selected target areas. We also acquire foreclosed properties, repair them and sell or rent them to lower and moderate income families. (3) Small Business Incubator/Accelerator. The CDC owns and manages a 12,500 square foot small business incubator that provides below market rental space for small and emerging businesses. Technical assistance is also available to enable businesses to grow and prosper.
