Volunteer Tutors Needed for Adult Literacy Program

Flexible Schedule | Allentown, PA 18101

The Center for Career Pathways at the Allentown campus of Lehigh Carbon Community College is looking for VIRTUAL volunteer tutors for it's Adult Literacy Program. Tutors will be working one on one or in small groups (virtual or in-person) with adults looking to improve their academic skills in subjects such as Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Science in order to obtain their high school equivalency (GED). Tutors are also needed to assist English as a Second Language (ESL) students in improving their Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening skills. Tutoring times are flexible dependent upon your schedule and all tutoring is done remotely via ZOOM. The tutor coordinator will provide you with resources and materials to tutor. Volunteers Needed to Tutor English as a Second Language (ESL) Adult Learners

Lehigh Carbon Community College- Center for Career Pathways are looking for volunteers interested in tutoring English as a Second Language (ESL) adult students. Tutoring happens in-person or virtually for a min. of 3 hours per week. Days of the week and times are flexible based on schedule of both the tutor and the student. Tutoring includes working with students on reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Materials provided. Tutors must have their Bachelor's degree in any field and will need to complete clearances and a tutor orientation. Pennsylvania residents preferred. Career Pathaways is a free program that offers a sequence in educational curriculum designed to help students along the path to a career in a high priority occupation. The curriculum is based on the needs of industries in the Lehigh Valley and is work focused. We offer both day and evenign clases to students looking to obtain their GED plus there are classes for English language learners as well.
