Mission Statement
The mission of KADEP is "to provide a client-centered, community based program designed to enhance participants' quality of life by improving or maximizing their physical, emotional, social, cognitive and spiritual well-being."
Description
The Rocky Mountain MS Center King Adult Day Enrichment Program (KADEP) is a nationally recognized program designed to meet the specialized needs and interests of younger adults with MS and other acquired neurological diseases or disabilities.
The program provides wellness monitoring care, adaptive techniques for leisure and recreation and education about support skills specifically for people with disabilities. KADEP emphasizes the significance of independent living or continued family living in the community. The program develops individual care plans that encompass numerous areas of daily living and are designed to maximize functional independence. Each client's independent functioning is monitored on a daily basis. Our goal is to have at least 75% of program participants maintain or improve their functional status.
Program participants can choose from 12-14 classes and activities of interest per day. Activities include crafts, ceramics, hydrotherapy, debate groups, healthy cooking classes, individual and group exercise, disability support groups, outdoor adaptive sporting activities, community outings and groups to enhance cognition and memory. The program also encourages participants to be active in the Participant Advisory Council, where clients can suggest ideas to make the program fit their needs specifically. Breakfast and lunch are served daily. Health and wellness monitoring and assistance with physical needs are always available. Volunteer opportunities are also available.
