What is Hospice?

Hospice is a way for individuals with advanced illnesses to live with comfort, dignity, hope and support. Hospice provides services to both patients and their families.

Why should I become a Hospice volunteer?

Volunteering for Renown Hospice offers unique opportunities for personal fulfillment and growth. You can make a significant difference in another’s life by contributing time, energy, compassion, and ideas. You can also gain experience and insight into how people can cope well with the challenges of serious illness and the death of a loved one.

How can I help?

Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team. Specialized training in the hospice philosophy and services prepares our volunteers to understand the needs of patients and families and the best ways to sensitively communicate and give support. Volunteers can assist with direct patient support, administrative support, special events and bereavement support.

I have heard many positive stories of Renown. My youngest son was seen in the Children's ER last year for Influenza and the staff were wonderful. I would like the opportunity to volunteer for a great organization like Renown.
