Girl Scouts is the world's preeminent, girl-led organization developing leaders for nearly 100years. As we look to our 100th year 2012, we are committed to ensuring all girls have the tools they need to face life's challenges and opportunities. In partnership with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, and to be a strong voice for women and girls in Utah.

In Girl Scouts girls gain the confidence they need to succeed, make lifelong friendships and have fun while they learn. Perhaps most importantly, they discover the power of girls working together.

Girl Scouts discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together, and you can be a part of it! In Girl Scouts, the possibilities are endless for girls and adults. Volunteers choose from several flexible pathways to join Girl Scouting that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls.

I love the Girl Scouts! All the girls in my family have been and many, including myself, continue to be Girl Scouts. For the past couple of years, I've been working with the Outreach program, which serves girls in at-risk populations like low-income or refugees, and it has been so rewarding. Girl Scouts of Utah has worked hard to improve the program and training, making it easier to do the work on the ground. If you're looking for a way to empower girls, spread love, and make a difference locally, the Outreach program is amazing.

I will begin volunteering with this program on October 17th. Even though I haven't begun interacting with the Girl Scouts yet, I am already impressed by the program. The program coordinator is incredibly passionate about the work she does, and is genuinely interested the overall success of the program as well as each individual troop. She knows communication is key, so you won't be alone when leading your own troop. I am excited to begin working with the girls on a weekly basis. This program will allow you to become a role model, help you develop leadership skills, and give you something to look forward to on a weekly basis!

I volunteered with the Girl Scouts Outreach Program. This program is incredibly rewarding and fun. You get to spend time with adorable girls every week who genuinely appreciate you coming. For many, you are one of the only role models they get to spend time with on a regular basis. It's a great feeling to have girls want you around and get excited to see you walk through the door. It's awesome to be able to impact their lives and allow them to learn great life skills and have a good time too. I would recommend this to anyone who loves kids, making a difference, and having fun.
