Description

The basic purpose of the Criminal Justice System is to deal with those who are accused of committing acts against individuals and society that have been deemed to be crimes. These accusations and their processing are the reason for the system's existence. As a volunteer of the State Attorney, we are all part of a number of agencies and institutions collectively known as the Criminal Justice System. Understanding this system, the way it works, and the role of this office within it, will provide each volunteer with a greater sense of appreciation for something that plays such a vital part in the safety and protection of society.
