Since 2012, under new administration, the mission of LACU works within a broader cultural significance because of the need to unify the Latino community in Pittsburgh. We define the culture as the language, beliefs, values and norms, customs, dress, diet, functions, knowledge and skills, and all the other things that people learn to make the "lifestyle" of this society. Our new goal is to unify the Latino communities by focusing on those things that unites us; we all immigrated in the pursuit of happiness, we miss our family’s warmth and speaking our language.

Our definition of culture allow us to:

• Strategies to promote inclusion and diversity of Latinos in the labor field

• Events and activities to preserve and educate about our culture

  • Folkloric Dancing

  • Latin American Film Festival

  • Conferences and Seminars

• Initiatives to promote collaborative work among other organizations that serve Latinos

• Initiatives to increase the visibility of Latinos in Pittsburgh

• Initiatives to meet the needs of the Latino community in Pittsburgh
