Mission Statement
Our mission is to preserve the significant open lands and diminishing natural heritage of Colorado through private and public partnerships, innovative land conservation techniques and strategic leadership.
Description
Colorado Open Lands is Colorado’s land trust. We are a private, 501(c)3 non-profit land conservation organization that accomplishes our mission through voluntary partnerships with private landowners, the business community, federal, state and local government agencies, and other conservation organizations. Since 1981, we've permanently protected over 378,000 acres of open space throughout the state. Colorado Open Lands’ work protects landscapes and lifestyles that make Colorado unique by ensuring lasting protection of our open spaces and promoting our cultural heritage as farmers, ranchers, sportsmen, and guardians of the land.
