Mission Statement

YMCA READS! is an after-school reading assistance and mentoring program providing opportunities for at-risk and low-income children in kindergarten through third grade to develop the reading skills they need to succeed in school.

Description

Basically, the tools you need to communicate better is provided for you. You learn to teach 1-1 at your pace with no pressure and at the same time you are changing childrens lives forever.

It's a no-brainer. We already have 30 regular volunteers who enjoy the program as much as the students, and if you decide to help, that'll be another student's life that is changed.
