Mission Statement
Children's Advocacy Center - Hope House serves as the voice of hope, healing, and awareness for abused children in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes. We partner with a team of professionals to facilitate collobrative investigations of child abuse. Within a nurturing environment, we provide prevention education, advocacy, and counseling for children and their families on their path to recovery.
Description
Upon arrival at Hope House, children and their non-offending caregivers, are welcomed into a child-friendly greeting area. Once the child is comfortable, a specially trained forensic interviewer escorts the child to a comfortable room where the child and the interviewer talk. The Forensic Interview is confidential. Only the involved investigators observe the interview from another room. During the interview, a Family Advocate meets with the caregivers to discuss resources and provide support.
If abuse is disclosed, the healing process can begin. The well-being and safety of the child is of the utmost concern to all the agencies involved. At Hope House, we offer no-cost counseling to our clients and their non-offending caregivers. We can also provide referrals for specific counseling services when needed.
Hope House is supported by individual and corporate donations, fundraisers, grants, and funding from local municipalities. These allow Hope House to provide services at no cost to our clients or their caregivers.
