Mission Statement

Homeward Bound's goal is to offer the Southern Nevada community the option of placing for adoption, domestic cats and kittens who are found as strays, or need to be re-homed, by operating adoption centers that provide the community with a selection of healthy adoptable animals, paying for vetting of our available cats for adoption, educating the community on the responsibility of spaying/neutering pets, establishing a network of reliable and loving foster homes to provide temporary care for cats and kittens awaiting adoption, creating a facility in which we care for relinquished cats while we evaluate their behavior, temperament, health, and any special needs they may have prior to placing them in our adoption centers, and reducing the number of domestic cats who are abandoned, euthanized, or placed in local kill shelters.

Description

Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions is a non-profit charitable corporation that offers our community another resource and option for those wishing to find homes for domestic cats/kittens needing to be re-homed. Homeward Bound envisions a community in which no pet owner is forced to make a choice to abandon an unwanted cat or kitten or relinquish the pet to a kill shelter. We adopt only spayed and neutered cats and kittens, therefore all kittens are held in foster homes until they are approximately 14 weeks old. We raise community awareness by sending out success stories and raise funding through parking lot sales and unique and fun events.

I have been a volunteer/foster parent for Homeward Bound for about 4 years, and adore both Carol and Lee, who run it. They are caring, and genuinely love and care for every cat who passes through the group, on his/her way to a forever home. Please consider volunteering for Homeward Bound, as it's so rewarding for humans and kitties alike!

I loved working with Homeward Bound. Everyone was nice and welcoming. I helped in the cat adoption center at PetSmart on MLK and Craig taking care of the cats and cleaning up. Unfortunately, I had to stop volunteering because my allergies were killing me! I would volunteer again in a heartbeat otherwise.

I love this Company they really care for animals, I had a outside cat and she had kittens so what I did called up my Vet. and asked if I could get a discount for all kittens and momma cat to be fix. I paid for the mother cat 14.00 and the other cats 9.00 each. Which it did save the day I called Homeward Bound and spoke to the Vice-President and she took care of everything, she found nice homes for the kittens and I went ahead and kept mamma cat she only come in the day time and outside she goes at night. I will do business with this company again I am trying to save a lot of the strays in my Apt. complex My Vet. still gives me the same price of all cats and kittens mostly all strays are male so it stays at 9.00 each I do find a female here and there while pregnant the Vet charges me 14.00 to have them fix. I want to save these animals and stop the population.
