Since 2007, Teach with Africa has sent over 80 educacators to schools in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa, funding their transportation and room and board, and providing supervisory and logistical support. Our goal in the future is to fund additional teachers, psychologists and social entrepreneurs for extended periods of time.
Each year, student teachers from South Africa spend one month assisting in US classrooms and enriching the recicprocal education experience.
Mission Statement
Teach with Africa has been created to help stem the tide of losing several more generations of South African children due to lack of a decent education and a dire shortage of teachers. We are partnering with the LEAP School in Cape Town, which has had remarkable success in educating high school students in the most economically challenged communities. Our mission is to send and fund American-trained teachers, mental health clinicians, and MBA/social entrepreneurs to assist in their growth and success.
