The Bringing Books to Life Literary Series (BBLLS) is committed to fostering literacy, family engagement, collaborative partnerships and community for readers ages 3 to 13 in Miami-Dade County, Florida. This initiative gives children the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential by using high-quality, research-based practice that is culturally competent and sensitive to promote and strengthen the family structure. The organization secures a community space. The space is then transformed using three-dimensional props and character decor to give the participants the feel that they have stepped into the themed book. Within the space, attendees participate in activities taken directly from the book.
