Mission Statement

The Long Island Progressive Coalition is a community-based organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development, revitalizing local communities, enhancing human dignity, creating effective democracy, and achieving economic, racial, and social justice. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to be part of our team, working to improve the quality of life for all Long Islanders.

Description

Volunteers will learn how to conduct research, organize press events and rallies, and build relationships with community members, activists, politicians, and business leaders. Your experience depends on you! You can join us in fighting for quality public education, affordable housing, clean money for clean elections, and saving energy by repowering Long Island's aging power plants to make them more efficient.

Flexible hours are available Monday through Friday, year-round. This is an unpaid position. Please contact Maurice Mitchell at (516) 541-1006, Ext. 16 or e-mail him at maurice@lipc.org.
