I volunteered with the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance from 2015-2017. I have enjoyed my experience with the organization immensely. I felt I was able to connect with those who need support by providing resources over the phone. The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance were able to work with my schedule, were understanding and always very appreciative of the volunteer work being done.

DBSA is a welcoming environment and a place where there is ample opportunity to learn. By answering the informational 1-800 number, I learned so much about issues that the community faces in regards to accessing care and support for bipolar disorder or depression. Directly speaking with people across the US was a meaningful experience that I won't forget. I would recommend volunteering here if you're looking to be inspired by people who are passionate about their work and learn about mental health in the community!

Volunteering with DBSA was the highlight of my week. Being able to provide assistance to individuals over the phone, as well as, being in the non-profit setting illustrated to me that my passion truly lied in the educational aspect of mental health/mental illness. I am thankful for my time with DBSA and hope to get back involved with the organization in the future.

DBSA provided me with everything I could ask for from a volunteering opportunity. In addition to being really welcoming and friendly, it's obvious that the staff here are dedicated, passionate, and professional. It was really great to play a small part in the work that they do everyday. I was allowed to work independently and I feel that this experience helped me to grow professionally and to gain some valuable insights. Being around supportive peers, doing challenging and rewarding work, professional development - this was not just a volunteer position, it really was an opportunity. 10/10: would volunteer again.
