Mission Statement

Our Promise: Young people want to shape the world. Camp Fire provides the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are. In Camp Fire, it begins now. Light the fire within.

Description

We serve youth of all races, religions, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and disability. Camp Fire's coeducational programs help both boys and girls cultivate their unique talents and skills. More importantly, Camp Fire offers all families, whatever a family may look like in today's society, life-enhancing experiences and the opportunity to serve, play, and grow together. We believe that the best youth development takes place in small group environments that allow them to develop personal skills and ongoing relationships with others in the group.

As a young member of Campfire USA Inland Northwest I learned to be more knowledgeable about the outdoors and more self-sufficient in general. I was involved in the organization during my grade school years and the lessons and crafts I learned are things I continue to share with my own students in Spokane. This is truly an organization that makes a difference in Spokane.

They have a great Summer Camp on Lake Coeur d'Alene at Camp Sweyolakan on Mica Bay. Camp Sweyolakan has been open since 1922. It is now a coed Camp for kids from First Grade up through High School. It is accredited by the national "ACA" American Camping Association organization. Camp Sweyolakan is only accessible by boat. They have both residential camp and day camp available.
