Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

In 1865, the founder of The Salvation Army, William Booth, sought to make Christianity more than mere religion. Moved by the social degradation he witnessed in London's East End, Booth asserted that sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, The Light of the World, could heal this darkest part of England. Realistically, though, he understood that a man wouldn't listen to the salvation story if it was drowned out by the growling of an empty stomach. So Booth championed the cause of soup, soap, and salvation.

The compassion that drove the founder of The Salvation Army over 100 years ago still drives us today. The Fayetteville Salvation Army Corps provides services in the following counties: Cumberland, Moore, Robeson, Hoke, and Scotland counties. Having Social Service offices in Cumberland and Moore counties.
