Mission Statement

Shakti Youth Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that EMPOWERS youth from different backgrounds, cultures, and communities by CONNECTING them with each other and with positive adult role models. Through free yoga classes and events, we are CREATING a global corps of young people who embrace personal growth, awareness, presence, service, and cross-cultural connection.

Description

We provide free yoga and mindfulness classes to underserved youth in the DC area and sponsor service trips to Nicaragua. Our programming is rooted in the basic truths espoused by ancient yogis and practiced by yoga teachers today.
