Have you been impacted by impaired driving and would like to make a difference by sharing your story. We invite you to work with MADD Nebraska to speak for our Victim Impact Panels. Panels are a way for victims of impaired driving to share their story with those sentenced in the court system for driving under the influence to help them understand the true cost of drinking and driving. Victim speakers will be required to work with MADD staff to outline their presentation and ensure they are emotionally prepared prior to speaking. Victim Impact Panels are a vitally important part of the MADD mission to end impaired driving and the registration fees from the panels goes directly to help support victims and work towards the MADD mission in Nebraska. Speakers are needed in the following areas: Lincoln, Kearney, La Vista, Grand Island, Norfolk, Scottsbluff, Hastings, Holdrege, and Columbus.

The MADD Victim Impact Panel program allows those whose lives have been impacted by impaired driving to educate others about the true danger of drinking and driving. The program allows convicted DUI offenders to hear the stories of those impacted in their community and works to create a change in behavior. MADD Nebraska is looking for individuals who are able to facilitate these panels in the community. Volunteer facilitators would handle on location logistics, registration and fees, running of the panel, exit surveys and all communication with the MADD state office. Each panel takes around 4 hours from set-up to tear down. Facilitators must be able to handle working with a diverse population, and pass a background check for cash-handling. Training is provided for all facilitators. Upcoming Hastings Panels: September 17, 2024
