Mission Statement

Optimist Clubs are dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" and do their part through community service programs. Since each Club is autonomous and run by members in their community, Optimists have the unique flexibility to serve the youth of their area in any way they see fit. Optimist Clubs see a need in their community and react to it.

Description

Lafayette Optimist Club is one of more than 3.000 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids." We are adult volunteers that join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in our community.

Our Lafayette Club offers scholarships and assistance ... to children in the Acadiana area. Additionally, we host various Halloween and athletic events. Awards are also given to students and first responders annually.

Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month and member meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month.

Our Youth Camp located at 202 Optimist Rd. is available for use by local youth organizations at no charge. With a large building fully equipped, this building is also available for rent to individuals.
