Mission Statement
EarthLinks cultivates transformation and self-worth with people experiencing homelessness and poverty. By creating opportunities through Earth-centered programs, individuals step out of isolation and into community--restoring each other and the planet.
Description
EarthLinks is an innovative effort which brings together homeless and low-income people of many different ethnic backgrounds to work and learn together while they build self-esteem and increase their sense of community with each other and the natural world. Through the following programs we work to empower people who are homeless, elderly, disabled, and in need of employment.
Day Trips into Nature - EarthLinks offers earth education to participants by providing year-round adventures through day hikes and regional explorations.
Urban Garden Program -- EarthLinks helps homeless and low income people cultivate gardens in collaboration with other non-profit organizations.
Workshop Program -- EarthLinks innovative pre-employment project, that creates earth friendly crafts and encourages environmentally sound practices.
