Saving One Life Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is partnered with Kitty Pause Kitty Cafe in West Mesa, Arizona. Our fabulous felines need volunteers to come and care for them daily. We need morning and afternoon volunteers who will care for the felines and give them snuggles. About Saving One Life: Saving One Life is an animal welfare organization in Arizona and San Diego County, CA. We save over 1500 animals per year. We are an entirely volunteer-run organization . Our mission: Committed to a never-kill principle, Saving One Life Animal Rescue and Sanctuary protects, provides and cares for at-risk cats and dogs through foster and adoption programs, animal sanctuary services, feline colony management, community outreach and collaboration. The ideal applicants would have a passion for animal welfare, be self-motivated, organized and a good communicator. There are several areas where we could use assistance: Volunteer Assistant: Pull Monthly Report from YouCanBookMe Assemble report with top volunteers and inactive volunteers to Volunteer Coordinator Assemble report with center specific (we have 8 locations) with monthly average of volunteers, popular and unpopular times to volunteer Create and Execute yearly to semi-annual survey to volunteers working directly with Volunteer Coordinator Volunteer Communication Assistant: Review daily volunteer calendar Post Daily outstanding needs in volunteer FB group Contact director & stores (where we have adoption centers) if no daily volunteer) Director Admin: Work directly with executive director Analyze Quarterly Reports regarding donations and sources Complete and file Rescue partner agreements / reports Contact interested volunteers in transportation to discuss (can be via email, zoom, etc.) opportunities; how to formally apply; how to be aware of needs. At Saving One Life Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities: Adoption Center Located at PetSmart on Guadalupe and McClintock in Tempe, we are fortunate to have an adoption center. We are always in need of volunteers who can donate one to two hours (or more ) every week, every month or whatever works best for your schedule. The majority of your time you will focus your time on: light cleaning of each kennel refreshing the food and water in each kennel cleaning the litter boxes spending time playing and petting the kitties there On occasion, a potential adopter may come by to answer questions or meet an animal. Anything you cannot answer can be directed towards the rescue director. All adoptions are handled by the director therefore a volunteer never has to tell a potential adopter no. Training is provided for all volunteers. Ideally, we prefer you commit to at least once a month but substitutes are always needed. If you are under the age of 18, you must be accompanied by a chaperone of at least the age of 18. Foster a Kitty With NO Long term commitment

Cuddle a Cat or Kitten. We are looking for kitty friendly folks who might be willing to share a spare bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, office, etc. with a kitty / kittens in need of a safe place to prepare for adoption. Every foster family helps us to make a tremendous difference in the number of cats we save each year. There is no cost to you but a commitment of time and attention. Fostering is flexible enough for most lifestyles. We will match the kitties to each foster home's needs and wants. By offering your time, energy and home to a cat in need, you prepare the animal for adoption into a permanent home as well as help prevent overcrowding in our shelters. What Does Fostering Entail? Have a dedicated space to place foster cat(s) away from your household pets for at least 14 days (required quarantine). Refresh food and water daily Clean Litter Box Give medicine when necessary (i.e. for kitty cold) If you have a cat, this might seem incredibly familiar. The only difference is that we provide the food, litter and cover the medical expenses. Am I eligible to foster?? Primary caregiver must be at least 18 years of age. Everyone in the home be in agreement about fostering Have a spare room or space to dedicate to the cat or kittens while at your home. Be willing to heap love and attention on the kitties Own your home or have a rental that permits animals of this nature Reliable transportation, insurance and valid driver's license (Although we do have volunteers who can assist when necessary Property Insurance (homeowners or rental) If you are interested in fostering, you will need to complete a foster application. Fostering also requires a home visit / interview to determine a proper fit and criteria. We recognize that becoming a foster family is a commitment. We work with each family to determine how often and how many kitties they wish to help at one time. We coordinate to ensure that animals are cared for and / or relocated when a foster is out of town or needs a temporary break from fostering (having company in, surgery, etc.). The average time a cat or litter of kittens is with a foster family is between two - six weeks. The timeline is based on whether the animal has been vaccinated, altered, is healthy (not having a kitty cold), socially ready for adoption and availability at our adoption center. This is a great opportunity for empty-nesters, families assessing whether they are ready to adopt or someone who wants to help save lives. Please consider getting involved. We cannot help cats when we don't have foster families available. It is that simple.

I love volunteering with Saving One Life! They are so organized! You can choose from a variety of days, times, and locations. Shifts are often 1.5 - 2 hours per shift. You can commit to as little or as much as you have time for. It can also vary from week to week. We like that you don't have a set schedule, it makes it easy to volunteer a lot one week and not volunteer on weeks we are busy or on vacation. It is so flexible, we often check the day of or the day before for their volunteer needs and schedule it at the last moment. This works well with our erratic schedules. I also love that my 12 year old daughter can help! They are an amazing organization, we love playing with all of the kitties, and they make it so easy for us to help!

There are a variety of tasks available and flexible hours. I enjoy the hands on time I get helping care for rescue cats. While I make a difference in their lives, they are making a difference in mine. Saving One Life has great volunteers!
