The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Description

For nearly a century, the American Cancer Society has fought for every life threatened by every cancer in every community. As one of the oldest and largest voluntary health agencies in the world with a presence in more than 5,100 communities and more than 3 million volunteers nationwide, the Society is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of everyone facing cancer and their loved ones - when and where they need help. Overall, nearly 14 million cancer survivors in America will celebrate a birthday this year thanks to the progress we’re making together.

The American Cancer Society is working relentlessly to save lives from cancer by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against the disease.
