Mission Statement

The mission of Norfolk Botanical Garden is to enrich life by promoting the enjoyment of plants and the environment through beautiful gardens and educational programs.

Description

We have opportunities for those who enjoy working out of doors, for those who enjoy working with children, and for those who enjoy administrative work air-conditioned comfort as well.

The Norfolk Botanical Garden is 155 acres of the most beautiful landscapes in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and our volunteers help maintain all of it. Our educational programs for children and adults are extrememly active. We have daily summer camps for children ages 5-10 from June to end of August, and daytime, evening, and weekend programs for adults and families. Master Gardeners explain the wonders of the Garden through our docent program. Garden Teacher Assitants assist our young campers with crafts, games, and learning experiences. And there are people working behind the scenes in administration making sure everything runs smoothly. Volunteers help with all of it!

The Norfolk Botanical Gardens, with its wide array of flowers and greenery, is a beautiful place to volunteer. All of the staff is friendly, helpful and supportive of the volunteers; we are encouraged to stay after the work is complete and enjoy the garden.
