Your Title: Community Preparedness Educator Save lives and prevent injuries by providing free education to community members by working with paid and volunteer staff and following program guidance. We provide preparedness presentations to youth K-12, seniors, and community members to prepare for home fires and other disasters. Volunteers can choose which audience and time frame they want to present to. Responsibilities: Conduct presentations ranging from 30-45 mins to 1 hour given to youths (K-12) in schools, seniors or businesses in community settings Complete 3 online training/orientation May assist with community outreach to schedule presentations at sites (optional) May mentor new presenters to help the region build a team of experienced youth preparedness presenters. (optional) Work as a team with the Team Lead and other volunteers and employees to build education program in the region Ensure all reporting data for each presentation given is collected and given to regional staff in a timely manner Other duties as agreed to between the presenter and the Team Lead Requirements: Script provided for presentations Familiarity with public speaking or presenting to groups Comfortable presenting Flexible/can choose between morning/evening shifts during weekdays This role is for Orange County, Sign-up to volunteer today! Your Title: Visual Storyteller Be a part of the Red Cross mission to alleviate human suffering by documenting our story! Responsibilities: Collaborate with Communications Leadership to identify and carry out ways to tell the Red Cross story visually Take photos and/or video at events, trainings and disasters in accordance with Red Cross brand standards Capture portraits, candids and/or studio shots to tell the Red Cross story of service delivery Cull, edit, caption and upload your photos/video to online sharing accounts; share select photos in a timely manner (typically same day or within 24 hours) with chapter/regional communications leadership and the social media team Share photos/video on social media, when appropriate Coordinate with chapter social media leads to share your team's videos and photos on social media or Red Cross sites. Treat all clients, volunteers and partners with dignity and respect - always obtaining required photo releases. Organize and deliver photo/video documentation, captions, quotes and photo releases. Your Title: Disaster Health Services Volunteer The American Red Cross responds to the needs of residents during evacuation orders and need licensed health care professionals to help residents in our shelters. Your Title: Recruitment Team Member We need volunteers to partner with us to help promote our most needed positions through researching new avenues of recruitment and building our existing pipelines. Whether it's tabling events, blood drives, presentations at organizations, we're getting the word out about all our awesome volunteer opportunities! Responsibilities: Identify businesses, groups, clubs or other community groups where potential volunteers might exist. Contact through email and phone call, with the direction of local leadership, to groups to make arrangements for the most appropriate recruitment delivery method. Works with departments to recruit current volunteers for new opportunities and leadership positions. Attend recruitment events and presentations to represent and talk about Red Cross volunteer opportunities to the interested public (optional). Requirements: Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs. Independent problem solving abilities Excellent communications skills, both written and spoken.
