Mission Statement
Where birds thrive, people prosper. That is why we work to restore our eroding coastline, clean up remaining oil residue, rebuild barrier islands, protect endangered birds, restore and protect waters and wildlife, and so much more.
Description
Audubon Louisiana focuses on protecting birds and their habitat. Our volunteers get to have direct interaction with birds through bird bandings, coastal outreach projects and other opportunities.
Our team of scientists has identified more almost 3 million acres of important bird habitat and is working to conserve and restore these precious habitats. Audubon’s research supports conservation and restoration policies and practices that are balanced with the needs of the local economy and culture. By reaching out to constituents and landowners, Audubon has created alliances that are making a direct impact on conservation affecting positive change.
