Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of low-income or vulnerable families and individuals in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Description

Who we are:

Health Imperatives is a non-profit community based agency that provides vital health and human services to nearly 30,000 families and individuals each year from communities stretching from Quincy to Nantucket.

Health Imperatives promotes healthy, safe, and vibrant families and communities. We support families and individuals who are struggling to cope with the devastating effects of poverty and violence, individuals who are worried about their health and safety, and parents who may be unprepared for the challenges of raising young children. Our health, nutrition, and counseling programs provide help, hope, and opportunity to local families and individuals.

Our Health Intervention and Prevention services include:

  • Sexual & Reproductive Health Services
  • Brockton Adolescent Sexuality Education Program
  • Plymouth AIDS Support Services
  • Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program
  • Support for Adjudicated Youth
  • LGBTQ Support, including BrAGLY

Our Violence Intervention and Prevention services include:

  • A New Day
  • Penelope’s Place Domestic Violence Shelter
  • SAFEPLAN Court Advocacy Services
  • LGBTQ Support, including BrAGLY
  • Family Support
  • Outreach, Prevention, and Education

Great opportunities to get involved and build skills volunteering while being a positive support for victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Very informative classes and helpful staff.
