Description
Princeton-Blairstown Center (PBC) is an independent nonprofit with a mission to transform the lives of vulnerable young people through integrated experiential and adventure-based programming in schools and at our Blairstown Campus near the Delaware Water Gap. We collaborate with schools, university partners, and community-based agencies to develop in youth deepened self-awareness, responsible decision-making, teamwork, and leadership skills. Our educational methodology combines critical thinking skills, experiential education facilitating Social Emotional Learning, and practical applications in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Our wide variety of year-round, multi-service programs serve over 6,000 students from the Mid-Atlantic states. Many of these students daily confront the challenges and risk factors of urban poverty. In our School-Based Programs, PBC staff members are located full-time in four public schools, including three schools in Trenton, NJ and the Global Neighborhood Secondary School in East Harlem. They work with youth in the schools and Blairstown Campus, using an evidence-based approach to facilitate students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. Throughout our efforts, we are committed to sustainability, including using renewable energy and conserving resources
