Mission Statement

Emerald City Pet Rescue exists to rescue abused, neglected and homeless animals from the streets and high kill shelters, primarily those in the Los Angeles and San Bernardino California high kill shelters, and place them into loving and forever homes. Emerald City Pet Rescue staff and dedicated volunteers offer their time and resources to house, train, rehabilitate, transport, and care for these animals. We are a Rescue Group, founded by Vivian Goldbloom.

Description

Emerald City Pet Rescue is dedicated to the following goals:

  • Rescuing stray animals from high kill shelters who have not been adopted and are scheduled to be euthanized. We take the animals who have been in the shelters the longest and will die unless rescued. Securing a no-kill facility where pets can be safely sheltered without the threat of euthanization until we find adoptive parents for the pets.
  • Providing the best medical care possible to neglected, abused, and injured animals and rehabilitating hard-to-adopt animals and finding them loving homes.
  • Promoting the importance of spaying and neutering pets in order to drastically reduce the number of unwanted animals on the streets.
  • We are proud to announce that we are now sponsoring low cost spay and neuter events. We are educating children and adults alike on responsible pet guardianship.

Emerald City Pet Rescue was founded in May 2013 by Vivian Goldbloom with the main aim of rescuing animals, specifically dogs, cats, and horses in need.

Vivian had been accomplishing her mission on a personal level for quite some time prior to officially incorporating the company but as her dream grew, she knew she needed to start enlisting the help of key volunteers to shape the dream into reality and ensure its smooth operation.

We have grown steadily since then, moving in to a new facility, expanding to offer retail space which benefits the non-profit rescue organization, and growing to include our volunteer program. You can get more information on our website at www.emeraldcitypetrescue.org.
