Mission Statement

GO! (Generation Out) Athletes is a support network of current and former LGBTQ collegiate and high school athletes whose mission is to create safe spaces in the athletic community for LGBTQ athletes, coaches, and fans.

Description

When the concept of GO! Athletes was born under the name "Our Group" in 2008, we were a small support group of LGBT athletes who helped one another with coming out and being out on our sports teams.

While similar groups have been created in recent years to address anti-LGBTQ bias in sports, GO! Athletes was formed with the explicit purpose of supporting LGBTQ athletes, representing young voices, and empowering our allies.
